Please and Thank You are the Magic Words

Hello little Princesses gather around, I am so sorry it has taken forever to publish a princess lesson it has taken me awhile to get back into my princess  routine after going to Disney World but today we are going to learn about something very important and I can't wait to share it with you!
I am certain all of you have heard of small things like saying “Please” and “Thank You”, or heard someone say “Chew with your mouth closed” maybe your Mother once told you not to point, all these thing may seem silly to you but they are Manners and very important when it comes to being a princess.
Manners are small actions that make a big difference. When you hold the door open for an elderly person that shows you have respect for them, Manners show that you care about the other people around you.
Some manners a Princess should have are:
Saying Please and Thank You,
Holding the door open for others,
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze,
Ask to be excused from the dinner table,
Do not whine,
When wearing a ball gown tuck one leg behind the other,
Apologize when you have done something wrong,

These are just a few manners a Princess must learn. At first you might think having manners are hard but practicing them at every chance you have will help and if you mess up it’s ok  just try again.
Once you have learned these manners you will have learned to be Polite and Princess should always be polite, but don’t stop learning new manners! There are always new was to be polite and your kingdom will love you all the more for being polite and being a pro at manners.
I’ll see you soon my Student,

Mastering the Wave and Curtsy

Today we are going to take a look at two things princesses are well known for, The Princess Wave and Curtsying.
First we will work on Curtsying. A curtsy is one way a princess may greet someone she is meeting. To curtsy you must place you right foot over you left foot near your big toe or the end of you glass slipper.

Bend slightly with your knees leaning forward ever so little. To add the finishing touch stretch your arms out to the side of you with your elbows bent inward and your middle finger and thumb touching. It’s as simple as that!

Depending on who you are greeting depends on how big your curtsy is. If you are meeting say a queen or king your curtsy must be a very deep with your head bent down, if you are greeting some one less important then give a smaller curtsy. If you are wearing a ball gown when you curtsy then take up the sides of the gown between you middle finger and thumb, if you are simply in a knee skirt, pants, or pajamas then just place you arms to the side like shown.
The Princess Wave is very popular to all princesses, there are two different ways you can do the wave pick which ever one suits you self the best.
The first way is simple and sweet, look at the palm of your hand and make a small cup with all your fingers touching as if Tinker Bell was going to land in your hand.

Then with your hand ready raise it up into the air so your elbow is even with your shoulder, and then start moving your wrist side to side with slow small motions, you don’t want to tire your self.
The second Princess Wave is a little bit more complicated, you start out the same as the first wave the difference some in when it is time to wave. Instead of just moving your wrist you star by moving your elbow in small circles not to wide, and then move your wrist in the same circle motion as your elbows.
Which ever wave you choose I’m sure it will look wonderful because it’s the Princess that is doing the wave that really matters.
I know you can’t see me but I’m waving goodbye to you.

Head Up Shoulders Back.

Come one, Come all, to your second princess lesson,

Today we are going to learn about princesses Posture. Some  younger princesses might not know what the word posture means but have no worries it is a big word for a little thing. Posture means to stand up straight with your shoulders back and you head held high (that way your Tiara doesn’t fall off).

Posture is important because it shows you are confident in who you are. If you slouched around all the time then it would hurt to sit up straight and you would look sloppy. If you have good Posture you also look taller, which is a very nice thing when you’re shorter. If princesses have bad posture and wont take the time to fix their posture their back can grow crooked, which is very bad when you become older.

See the difference for your self. In the first picture, my back is slouched and has bad posture,

In the second picture my back is straight and has good posture.

See the difference?? Which type of posture do you have? Which type of posture do you want? Here are a few tips and tricks I've gathered for you,

Some people say if you want good Posture stand up straight and pretend there is a string coming out of the top of your head pulling you up.

Pretend you are wearing a very large Tiara and if you slouch the crown might fall off and all the jewels would break.

Pick a book from your royal book shelf (or the royal public library) place the book on your head and see how far you can walk without it falling off, keep practicing and until you can walk all around without dropping the book.

Which ever method you use is fine and if you want to come up with your own that would be even better! You can share you ideas by commenting or  E-mail  Stephanie.

Never give up on posture it will be hard at first but I know you can do it!

Next up Princess Manners see you next time!!

Until then,

Stephanie

Lesson One (Hygiene)

Welcome to your very first Princess Lesson! Today you will start your journey to becoming a princess. Are you ready? Let’s begin!

Your First Chapter in this lesson will be on Beauty.  Most people think that being pretty is every thing but really it’s not, being pretty means that you can be your self even when a whole court of important people are watching you being crowned. Being pretty isn't everything, it's what's on the inside that truly counts.

Lesson One: Daily Hygiene
Whoa Hygiene? That is a pretty big word isn't it? But really it means something quite simple hygiene means to stay clean and every princess should be clean. There are 4 important things you can do to stay clean.
1. Take a shower (or a bubble bath)
2. Clean your nails
3. Brush your teeth
4. Wash your face before you go to bed
Those don’t seem to hard do they?

Taking a shower (or a bubble bath) is important that way when you go to a ball or a special princess sleep over you won't smell icky. You don’t want to smell icky do you?  Taking a shower (or a bubble bath) washes away all the dirt and sweat from your body that way you can be squeaky clean. (And it is also very fun to play in the tub)

Cleaning your nails helps keep them looking healthy. Princesses should always keep their nails clean what would happen if you were  signing an important paper for your kingdom and your nails are all dirty what would people think?

Brushing your teeth is important because it makes your teeth whiter and your breath smell fresh it also helps them stay strong. Dentists say you should brush your teeth at least two times a day 1: When you wake up and 2: before you go to bed.You wouldn't want to make any one pass out because of bad breath now would you?

And last of all washing your face before you go to bed makes you feel all clean and fresh so you can have sweet dreams of dancing around your room in a beautiful princess gown.

Those four things don't sound to hard do they? I believe in all of you, I believe that you can conquer Hygiene!!
Our next Princess Lesson will be in a week we will cover Posture
Remember,
“Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes”
Until next time,
